Sealers Cove

With a textured stitch pattern reminiscent of oceanic coves, Sealers Cove pays homage to one of my favourite sections of Wilsons Promontory.
Knit in DK/8ply yarn, with a folded double-brim to keep ears warm against the wind.
Shown here in a gorgeous gradient yarn from By Briony, the pattern works beautifully with solid, semi-solids or speckles.
Pompom: optional (but who could resist?)
Two sizes, with a generous circumference range designed to fit heads between 50cm - 64cm.
This beanie is unisex.
Suggested Yarn: By Briony Gradient DK - 100% merino - 236m/100g - 1 skein

Urchin

Urchin is a lightweight beanie with a cable-and-lace rib pattern that provides just the right amount of stretch and comfortable slouch.
Knit using a woolly sportweight/light DK yarn worked at a slightly looser gauge to compliment the drape and wearability of the design.
Worked in the round, with both written and charted instructions provided, this pattern is a perfect introduction for those new to lace, cables, charts or circular knitting.
Instructions for two sizes - S/M and M/L - are also provided, and by the stretchy nature of the stitch pattern, a generous amount of sizing flexibility is accommodated between the two.
Yarn: Isager Jensen - 100% wool/100g/273yd/250m. 175m - 220m required for pattern as written. NB: Shilasdair Luxury DK or Rowan Felted Tweed DK would both also be excellent choices.

Inspired by the surf beach of my teens, this close-fitting beanie is a light but warm hat knit with two strands of Shibui yarn held together throughout to form a foamy, marled fabric for the main body. A pop of bright contrast adds that detail and texture I love, and the finished piece is topped off with a perky pompom.
This beanie comes in two sizes – small or large – and can be worn with negative ease (as intended) or with a little more slouch if that’s your preference. Perfect for the surfer in your life who wants to keep their ears warm and the ocean wind out of their hair.
